Random matching
When you start a session, you join a pool of people who want to chat in the same mode. The service pairs you with another online user. If the chat ends or you disconnect, you can start again for a new random partner. You are always in control of leaving.
Text, voice, and video modes
- Text — Typed messages (and media where the product supports it). A good starting point if you want the least exposure.
- Voice — Browser-based audio with your microphone. Your voice is shared with your match.
- Video — Adds your camera so matches can see you. Be mindful of what appears in frame.
Compare the guides for random text chat, random voice chat, and random video chat when you are choosing a mode.
How to start chatting
- Open the home page (lobby).
- Choose a display name if prompted, and pick text, voice, or video.
- Allow microphone or camera only when you intend to use that mode.
- Use start / connect controls and wait for a match.
Switching between modes
Each mode is reached from the lobby or site navigation (text, voice, video). There is no requirement to stay in one mode: leave the current chat, return home, and open another mode when you want a different experience.
Staying safe
Treat every match as a stranger. Share less, not more: avoid real names, workplaces, schools, financial details, and links you cannot verify. If something feels off, disconnect. Our safety page goes deeper; chat without login explains what “no account” does and does not mean.
